Dr Yasmina Serinel

BSc MBBS FRACP PhD

Dr Yasmina Serinel is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician. She graduated from Sydney University Medical school and completed her specialist training at Concord and St Vincent’s hospital. She undertook a clinical research fellowship in Sleep medicine at the Woolcock Institute before completing a Sleep PhD through Sydney University with an NHMRC scholarship. Her research work in hypertension and sleep apnoea led to awards such as The New Investigator Award, the Sydney University Medical School Deans Publication Prize, and several scholarship awards to present her novel work at international conferences. She has first-author publications in prestigious peer reviewed international journals such as Thorax.

Yasmina’s main area of interest and passion is in Sleep disorders, such as sleep apnoea, disorders of extreme sleepiness such as narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, and sleep movement disorders such as parasomnias and REM behaviour disorder.
