Dr Joachim Ngaim graduated with honours in Dentistry from the University of Sydney and holds Master’s degrees in Dentistry (Orthodontics) and Medicine (Sleep Medicine). He is a Research Fellow/Visiting Dental Officer in the Respiratory and Sleep Department at the Royal North Shore Hospital. He has been awarded the Rudolf Gunz University of Sydney Medal in 1992 and received the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Research Awards in 2011 and 2012.

Dr Ngaim is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, focussing on mandibular advancement splint (MAS) therapy for the treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. With a diverse range of research interests in orthodontics and dental sleep medicine, he has been published in peer-reviewed orthodontic and sleep journals.

Dr Ngaim has been a speaker at a number of national and international conferences, and is on several committees of the Australasian Sleep Association.
